About Cradle
Cradle is the Research & Development lab of the Academy for AI, Games & Media at Breda University of Applied Sciences. At this lab, cutting-edge, innovative games and media applications are designed and developed through projects conducted on behalf of and befitting four professorships: Digital Media Concepts; Creative & Entertainment Games; Serious Games, Innovation & Society; and Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence. Most of the projects at Cradle involve external partners and are funded by secondary (e.g. national or EU research grants) and tertiary sources (project-based contracts). Cradle has its own staff pool of experienced, tech-savvy researchers, lecturers, designers, and developers. It also offers internships, individual graduation projects, collaborative team projects, as well as support, facilities, and equipment to students, staff, and partners.
Example responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated student intern to join our team as a Research & Communication Assistant. You will support the project in multiple areas, including:
- Managing and creating content for social media channels.
- Designing infographics and other visual materials to communicate research insights.
- Assisting with podcasts and interviews, including organisation, scheduling, and follow-up.
- Transcribing interviews and preparing cleaned-up transcripts.
- Supporting general project organisation and documentation.
- Writing short articles, blog posts, or summaries of research findings.

Your profile
- You receive ECTS for doing an internship or a thesis assignment as part of your study programme.
- You are enrolled in a study programme (WO, HBO, MBO, or equivalent).
- You are available for at least 5-6 months. Start/end date is negotiable.
- Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Curious and willing to learn about R&D processes and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Interest in creative industries, research, or communications.
- Interest in podcasts, interviews, and storytelling.
- Experience or interest in social media management and content creation.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Illustrator) are a plus.
